    Tattoo After Care

    • For at least two weeks, minimize exposure to the sun, discourage
      swimming;
    • Properly cleanse the tattooed area;
    • Apply antibiotic ointment or cream;
    • Use sterile bandage(s) or other sterile dressing(s) when necessary;
    • The client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of
      infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed
      infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the
      tattoo to the artist and to the Texas Department of State Health
      Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6676.

    Piercing After Care

    • Properly cleanse the pierced area by using antibacterial or
      antimicrobial soap for the external skin and or an antiseptic or salt
      water mouthwash for the oral cavity;
    • For at least the first six weeks, minimize exposure to filth;
    • Use sterile bandage(s) or other sterile dressing(s) when necessary;
    • The client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of
      infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed
      infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the
      body piercing to the artist and to the Texas Department of State
      Health Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6676.

    Curar y Cuidar un Tatuaje

    • Lava el tatuaje con agua templada y jabón neutro luego seca con toallas de cocina y aplica una capa muy delgada de crema de cuidado posterior del tatuaje y déjala expuesta al aire libre. El exceso de hidratación puede afectar negativamente el tatuaje.
    • Cubre tu tatuaje con envoltura de plástico transparente durante las dos primeras noches, pero no apliques ninguna crema si vas a cubrirlo.
    • Repite este proceso 3-4 veces al día durante un período de dos semanas.
    • Nunca mojar el tatuaje
    • Evita ir al gimnasio o hacer deportes de contacto durante el primer par de días de curació
    • No te rasques, frotes o toques tu tatuaje fresca
    • No expongas a tu nuevo tatuaje a la luz solar directa. Esto puede conducir a la decoloración y podrías fácilmente quemar la piel que no se ha curado.
    • No uses esponja para limpiar tu tatuaje, masajea suavemente con la mano previamente lavada
    • No apliques demasiada crema; una capa delgada bastará.

    Curar y Cuidar un Piercing

    • Retirar las costras. Una vez las manos estén bien limpias, hay que humedecer la piel para ablandar las costras que se hayan formado y retirarlas sin esfuerzo. Se puede emplear un bastoncillo,  no apretarlas, ni arrancarlas cuando estén secas.
    • Limpiar la zona con agua y jabón. Secar la piel con cuidado. Se puede utilizar una gasa esterilizada o un bastoncillo, pero no las manos, toallas o algodón.
    • En caso del infection, añadir algún desinfectante como la povidona iodada. No se debe poner alcohol o agua oxigenada sobre la perforación porque puede retrasar la cicatrización.
    • Evitar el uso de cremas y baños en piscinas
    • Qué hacer si se infecta?
      • Quitar el piercing y curar la incisión con el método normal de desinfección: si se quita el piercing se puede volver a poner, pero hay que darle tiempo a la piel para que se renueve totalmente.
      • Cambiar el piercing por uno de titanio puro y desinfectar: el titanio favorece una curación más rápida.
